Updates for August, 2010

Dear Web Design Database users,

I have made an executive decision to change our domain name from wddb.com to webdesigndatabase.net and to forward all urls. If any urls are broken now, it is 100% my fault. Blame me when a problem arises.

I have also decided to rework the layout of this website. It's an on-going process, really. This one is noteworthy of posting as it substantially changed the top portion of the website. I takes up a lot less space now, but more importantly it gives better organization for the website. It's much more simple. Though it may appear otherwise, no pages were deleted in this update. We simply... simplified. Also, many of the tables around the site have been updated to feature the revamped look we gave the forums a few months ago. The pagination got a facelift as well -- it sorely needed one. Mostly little things overall.

May you all enjoy the new layout!

Yours Truly,
Levi

Staff Submission System Plugin Released!

For those who would want someone to apply for their website, the WDDB is proud to announce that we have released a plugin for it to be easily accomplished.

The plugin is called Staff Submissions, and it is an easy way for your users to tell you their skills, so that they can become a member of your staff. The Administrators of your website will be able to review the submissions that are in your database, and approve them or deny them. The cool thing is, you do not have to change any groups yourself, as the plugin will do them all for you!

You can find the plugin here. Please let us know what you think. :)

Staff Hired and New Plugin

Well, the WDDB hasn't been quite as active as we'd like it to be, but now I've found some hope. The Web Design Database is proud to announce that recently, we've hired a new staff member named byroman. Hopefully he can assist us in the process of getting this website running strong.

In fact, he has already began helping. We've released a new Seditio plugin made by byroman, and it's called User Map. This new plugin will give your users the ability to display their location on a map, showing a pinned location of their choice. If the user does not manually pin their location, it will automatically be done to the best of its ability by using the location they have set.

Each user's pins will be shown up on a global map. They will also be shown on a more personal scale when viewing their profile. Everything has the ability to be zoomed and configured. Good job, byroman! :)
